Short term rental cleaning is one of the most important factors when it comes to satisfying new guests. Imagine checking into a hotel and it is dirty. Sheets are dirty, the toilet wasn’t cleaned. As a guest, you probably wouldn’t be pleased or too comfortable during your stay. The standard in a hotel for cleanliness is what the short term rental industry needs to adopt. At Tomms, we’re doing our best to raise the bar for short term rental cleaning in Minnesota.
Turn Clean Checklist
- Cleaning all dishes that we’re used by the previous guest and putting them away in an organized manner.
- Bedding – all bedding needs to be cleaned and then beds need to be made and presented well.
- Damage – any damage to the short term rental should be reported immediately so the owner can assess and fix before the next guests check in.
- Supplies – any supplies that are low should be reported so that we can order more for the upcoming guests!
- All surfaces should be disinfected and cleaned throughout the home
- Towels and Toilet paper should be folded and presented neatly
- Presentation – Remember the photos you took for your short term rental when you first listed? It should be your goal to match those exactly each time there’s a turn. That’s what guests are seeing when they book there place and what they should walk into when they arrive.
First Impressions
When guests walk into your short term rental there is only one first impression to be had. At Tomms, our short term rental cleaning standards are geared towards this first impression. The entryway should be spotless and the details throughout the home need to be on point. A little detail we pay attention to is folding toilet paper and how we fold towels in bathrooms and the presentation of those. Taking the time to do that for guests is a little detail that guests notice and will help them feel comfortable during their stay.
