What can a Handyman do?

This is a question that we at Tomms get often. Can your handyman fix our siding or do some light plumbing? There are so many home maintenance projects that handyman can take and just as many that a handyman shouldn’t do as well. For us at Tomms, we’ll give you an insight on some of the services that our handyman have completed for homeowners in Minneapolis and surrounding areas.

  1. Yes, we’ve done tree trimming. With the right equipment this has made it possible for us to handle tree trimming jobs. While our handyman are not equipped or licensed to remove trees our tree removal division is.
  2. We’ve built decks! We’ve built a handful of beautiful decks this summer all thanks to our handyman and their expertise. When speaking with a handyman that’s not affiliated with Tomms Property Solutions it’s super important that they are upfront about what they can and can’t do. There are handyman that will say yes to just about anything because they would like the work. We will never say yes to something we aren’t 100% sure that you’ll be satisfied with.
  3. Post inspection lists for homeowners. So an inspector comes to do an inspection or you sit down with your realtor and they recommend a laundry list of items to boost the sale of your home. We’ve done everything from painting entire homes inside and out, to adding windows, and also making sure little things like smoke detectors and CO2 detectors are setup and in compliance. Have a laundry list of items you need done? Give us a call.
  4. Brush Cleanup – It is tough and takes a lot of time to stay on top of the brush on the exterior of your home. We’ve gone to multiple homes across the Twin Cities (Minneapolis & St. Paul) to help homeowners remove bushes, leaves, dead plants, weeds, and any other debris that has been found on the outside of their property. It’s tedious work that not every can or wants to do, but it’s something that is important to stay on top for the appearance of the exterior of your home.
  5. Light Installations – We’ve done easy light installations and tricky one’s too. Our most recent was a 20 foot high ceiling that we installed a beautiful chandelier. After the installation we had to re wire the electrical in order for every light to function properly which we did as well. We’ve also done light installations in hard to reach places like stairwells. Whether you have an easy light install or something a little more challenging, we can help.
  6. Drywall – A handful of times this summer homeowners called us looking for us to come in and remove the drywall that was damaged from a pipe that burst in there wall and install new drywall. We’ve successfully been able to do this countless times as well as paint after the drywall is settled to get the homeowners space back to looking how it did before the pipe incident.

These items above have been the most common maintenance and services we’ve helped homeowners with the past few months in Minneapolis and surrounding cities in the metro area. It’s important to note that we are not limited to just these services, we do so much more. However, we will NEVER say yes to a maintenance request if we are not 100% positive that the homeowner will be satisfied with our work and the work will be done right. That’s our promise at Tomms.
